The Bedroom
The centrally located bedroom has ample space for mobility and furnishings; it’s double the size of most comparable facilities. Two closets are located in the bedroom. Natural daylight illuminates the room through an operable slider window and a double door that opens up to a spacious covered front porch. Pocket doors provide efficient access to the adjoining bathroom and dayroom.
Accessible Bathroom
The cottage features a fully accessible bathroom with a curb-free zero-barrier shower. The adjustable hand‑held shower and grab bars aid care-free bathing and clean-up. The wall mounted lavatory and comfort-height toilet have WaterSense® ADA recognized features.
The quiet WhisperComfort® Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) balances the air pressure by bringing in fresh air while exhausting out stale moist air. The adjoining laundry closet has hookups ready for an optional stackable washer dryer unit.
State of the Art Bathroom
The Schluter shower system is installed under the ceramic tile which means there are no voids for trapped moisture to begin to mold or mildew.
The wall mounted tank-less electric on-demand water heater frees up valuable space, lowers your power bill and can be instantly, digitally set to a safe temperature for bathing.
We use PEX for all of our water supply lines so there is no glue, adhesives, or solder in your water supply. PEX resists deposits and will not split or crack. The home run flexible system has minimal fittings an almost no flow reducing elbows.
The Day Room
The day room has a separate entry door with a keyless door lock to allow caregivers and guests discrete access without entering the bedroom. Natural daylight or fresh air can waft in through the large slider window. The dayroom has a comfortable breadth suitable for a modest sleeper-sofa for overnight guests or caretakers and leeway for a handy Pembroke table for mealtimes.
The kitchenette features a full pantry closet, stainless sink, a combination microwave-convection oven with built in vent-hood and space for a full size refrigerator-freezer.
We provide a pair of safe-to-touch, countertop-saving, portable induction cooktops that easily fit into a top drawer.
The cabinets are all-wood, fashioned from U.S. harvested lumber and made in the USA. An optional 18-in dishwasher and disposal are both available.
